Picking the “perfect” gift for baby

I am in the store everyday – and we get asked at least 20 times a day “I am looking for a new baby or a birthday gift….” The perfect gift? We don’t just pick something out of our hat – we pick gifts we used with our own kids, or we tried in the store and were really popular. I feel lucky to have my own little test lab at home with my 6 and 4 year old that I have tried everything on!

The fun part of owning a store for kids and new wee ones is that my customers are always really happy. Whether it is new grandparents, expectant moms or clusters of women from the office getting a shower basket together – I love picking out all the fun stuff we are going to carry.

Granted, my kids are getting bigger and while I have personally used at least half of what I carry in the store – I find new stuff comes up everyday – the best of which are designed by busy, and smart moms. These new products to market I use another great “test lab” to get feedback from – our customers. Anyone that is a mom – know that we are a vocal bunch. We want it all – educationally stimulating, safe from anything harmful, reasonably priced, hard to find…..you get the idea. Moms are a tough crowd to please – and they keep us on our toes!

We also use our online store to reach out to people who can’t visit us in the store. For those visitors, I’ve made a video of some of the products I recommend every day. At the end of each video is the name of the product, and the manufacturer. Leave a comment here if you like this format, and if I should keep it going!
